The social media one-stop shop is the perfect way to describe Hootsuite, easy and efficient. Here at Boomerang, we use the platform daily and would be quite frankly, at a loss without it.
To put it simply, Hootsuite is a social media management tool which allows users to manage several social media channels in one place. Yes, that’s right, your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google and WordPress are all assessable in the same place, so you don’t have to keep going from account to account to post and monitor.
Once you’ve taken the big leap and signed up for a Hootsuite account, you’ll be faced with a streaming dashboard. This is the perfect time to sync all your social media platforms, in our case we have at least 8 accounts we monitor daily. The streaming feature allows you to view your feeds in one place, the ability to track when the brand name is mentioned and search for keywords that people are using in discussions. For example, if I were looking for people talking about MARKETING in NEWBURY, the steam would include tweets, including those words. If that wasn’t good enough for you, the stream feature also allows you to monitor, share and respond to people mentioning, commenting and direct messaging!
Now to the best part, the publisher feature! This part of the platform allows users to schedule and post content to numerous different accounts simultaneously. The post composer will enable you to select the accounts to display too, add captions, links, media, gifs and even edit before showing you a preview post from the view of different social media. If you want to post there and then you can, but the scheduler also allows you to choose a later time and date to post the content for you without another press of a button. Followed by a simple week to week view of what you have scheduled, what time and what platform, can’t go wrong.
Next onto our favourite A word, Analytics! The analytics section of Hootsuite gives you week by week figures of individual platforms performance. This is recorded by the number of posts, fans, engagements and traffic, highlighting what areas need improvement and what's working for each brand and platform.
The list of features goes on and on, and if I were to break down all of them this blog would turn into a dissertation, and nobody wants that. If you would like any more information regarding social media management or require help in any way, don’t hesitate to get in contact with us!
